What is a Role?


In Zapiens you can establish access permissions to certain categories or knowledge areas  using our "Roles" feature. Only users with that permission will be able to see in the App those categories and their associated knowledge.


For example: By using the roles only users with the segment value "Administration" will be able to see the questions that belong to the categories "Administration" "Accounting" "Payroll", etc







How to create a role?


Remember that before creating a role, you must enable the "Restricted" option in the categories you considered. Check out our article Edit or delete a Category

  1. Click on the "Users” area on the left side menu and click on the "Roles" section

  2. Click on the "Create role" button

  3. Write the name of the role

  4. There are two ways to set up a role

    1. If you want to allow access to certain categories:

      • Select the segment values you want to give access to 

      • Select the category or categories (parent or child) you want to give access to

        Note: Unselected segment values will not have access to the selected category or categories

    2. If you want to deny access to all categories or certain categories:

      • Do not select any segment values

      • Select the category or categories (parent or child) you want to deny access to

  5. Click on the "Save" button, the new role will appear in the role list

  6. Click on any area of the left side menu to exit the creation process









Note: If you want to allow access to all categories, it is not necessary to create a role.
